The Strypes


                     The Strypes appearance on the Late Late Show came about as a result of their 4 track EP
                     ‘Young Gifted & Blue’ going to number 1 in the iTunes blues album chart the day after
                     its release!  The single from the EP ‘You Can’t Judge A Book By The Cover’ is currently no
                     2 on the blues singles chart and is gaining a large amount of national radio airplay. Ian
                     Dempsey from Today FM made it his record of the week and the band have been invited
                     to record radio sessions for both the Tony Fenton show and the Paul McLoone show.
                     Also next week they will be interviewed on the RTE show Juice presented by Katie Van
                     Buren. The show will also screen their new video which has been critically acclaimed.

                     Since the release of their CD, the boys have been interviewed by, or featured in, The
                     Anglo-Celt, The Evening Herald, The Independent and The Irish Times.

                     They have a very busy touring schedule with regular gigs in all the music clubs in
                     Dublin, Belfast etc. On May 6th, they will make their London debut at the 229 venue on
                     Great Portland St. Over the summer they will perform at many major festivals at home
                     and abroad.  The most notable being Electric Picnic, The Westport Summer Festival with
                     Jools Holland and The Euro Ye Ye Festival in Gijon, Spain. They will also return to Stroud
                     Valley Arts space in Gloucesteshire, UK, to perform with Keith Allen, father of Lily Allen,
                     who they played with at the same venue last November.  In August they will play in
                     the world famous Cavern club in Liverpool as part of International Beatle Week and in
                     November they are booked to play some dates in northern Italy. They will finish off the
                     year with their biggest gig to date by appearing at the O2 in Dublin with fellow Irish
                     band The Coronas.
