Geography Field Trip
On Monday March 26th our form 6 class set out for Tanagh Adventure Centre to
complete our fieldwork section of the Leaving Cert. course. This is worth 20% of our
marks so we were all on our best behaviour!!
It was a glorious sunny day as we headed for our site along the Bunnoe river. The
temperature was touching 20 degrees as we squeezed into our wellies. Green seemed
to be this season’s fashion though some of the girls had some unusual colours never
seen on a Cavan farm before. Mr Plunkett told us March was when river water is at its
coldest but a few of the boys didn’t believe him. They waded into the river in their bare
feet. It was so funny to watch their feet go red with the cold though these hard men
didn’t seem to mind. At four p.m. it was time to head back knowing this would be our
last ever fieldtrip in the Royal. Six years ago we started in a cave and we ended up in a
river but we had some great fun and happy memories in between.
