Portfolio Class

Portfolio classes are held every Monday and Wednesday at lunchtime from 1:20
to 1:45. Portfolio classes are for students who may be interested in going to Art
College when they are finished school.

Many art colleges require you to send them a portfolio of works you have done so
they can assess your artistic standard.

Portfolio is a fun class where you can explore new techniques and develop your
artistic abilities and ideas. You also get fantastic ideas and advice from Ms Burns,
who is always there to help you develop your skills and ideas.
                                                                                   Abigael Pierce

                                                        Credit Union Competition

As part of our Art Class we were asked to enter the Credit Union Art
Competition. This was my first time entering an art competition, we were
unsure what was expected, so our art teacher explain what we had to do.
The theme for the competition was ‘Artfest’.So I went home and started
looking for images that would suit the theme. I picked out lots of festive
cartoon images, people dancing, taking pictures and painting.

I decided to put it altogether and form one big festive party. I then filled
all the details on the back and gave it to my guardian to sign.

Two weeks later it was announced that I came first in the credit
union  competition, I was  extremely happy, but then I remembered
that there was a prize for first, second and third place. I got fifty-five euro.
Not long after they’d announced first place for the credit union
competition. They then said that I won third place in the chapter level
(all Ireland). I was so shocked because I was going to get more money. I
                                                     got fifty-five euro.

                                                                                              Lordina Asare
