Welcome to our Form 1 Admissions Section.  Early in October we will publish our Admissions Policy and Admissions Notice here on our Website, setting out our dates in the application process. An online application form will be available to submit. Once submitted you will receive an email (within 2 days) informing you that your application has been received. (A hard copy of the application form can be obtained from the school office if required.)

Occe the application period has closed you may receive an offer of a place on or before the indicated date on the Admissions Notice. You will be asked to confirm your acceptance of the place offered and to complete a more detailed, enrolment form by the required date.

To assist you choosing your school we will hold an Open Evening each year in early October, where you can view our facilities, meet our staff and students and find out any further information you require.

The Form 1 Enrolment window is from Tuesday 8th October to 3:00 p.m. on 6th November 2024.

The Royal School Cavan accepts application forms for prospective Form 1 students at any stage up to the closing date stated stated on the Annual Admissions notice. Our application form is available online below, or a hardcopy by contacting the school office.

FORM 1 APPLICANTS

The information you will need to complete the application form (it should take approx. 20 mins):

  • Child’s PPS number
  • Child’s details
  • Child’s Current school name, address
  • Parents/Guardians’ contact details (phone, address & email)

A student must have reached twelve years of age on 1st of January in the year they start second-level education in order to be registered in a post-primary school.
It is important to remember that if you have more than one child we require a separate application form for each child.

Application Form 2025 – 2026

We are delighted to be able to host our Information & Enrolment Evening again this year on Tuesday 8th October, 2024.

5th and 6th class pupils along with their parents/guardians are cordially invited to attend this evening. It will afford you the opportunity to hear about our school, tour our facilities, and to meet with our staff and students.

There will be two Principal Addresses one at 6:30 pm and the second one at 7:30 pm, both will be followed by a tour of the school. Please come along at either 6:30 pm or 7:30 pm to learn more about our school.
