FEES & FINANCIAL AID
The cost of education in Royal School Cavan is not expensive by comparison with similar schools. Annual fees will be invoiced in June each year, with the first payment to be made before the first day of term in August and are set as follows for 2018/2019:
Boarding: €8,200 Day: €2,800
For more information on fees please read the Fees Policy Document.
There will be those for whom some assistance may be needed in paying the school fees. As one of the Protestant managed Secondary Schools, many students may be eligible for a grant through the Secondary Education Committee. This grant, which is means tested, can be given to families, if their son/daughter is a member of a Protestant denomination. This money would be paid directly to the school, reducing the cost of the fees to the family.
Please note: Applicants need to be registered by 10/12/2017 for the SEC Grant and have to have completed the application by 31/12/2017. To register and complete the application please visit http://www.secgrant.ie Please note that registration & completion of the form can only be done on a PC (i.e. smartphones and tablets cannot be used).
Other ways in which the costs can be met include two full boarding scholarships awarded annually, based on the Scholarship Examination, usually held around the first part of February; Assisted Boarding Scholarships for all who sit the Scholarship Examination; grant assistance from organisations such as, Protestant Aid, Bertrand & Rutland Fund amongst others. A full list of sources of grants can be obtained from the school.
A discount in fees is granted to the second and subsequent child of the same family.
