We have an open day every year for prospective fifth class pupils (and sixth class if they have not availed of the opportunity in fifth class) which takes place in the first term. Details of the exact date is sent to schools, available on our website, social media and local newspapers. On the evening of the open day we have an information evening for prospective parents.
The cost of education in Royal School Cavan is not expensive by comparison with similar schools. Annual fees will be invoiced in June each year, with the first payment to be made before the first day of term in August and are set as follows:
|Form 1 2020-2021||€2,800|
For more information on fees please read the Fees Policy Document.
There will be those for whom some assistance may be needed in paying the school fees. As one of the Protestant managed Secondary Schools, many students may be eligible for a grant through the Secondary Education Committee. This grant, which is means tested, can be given to families, if their son/daughter is a member of a Protestant denomination. This money would be paid directly to the school, reducing the cost of the fees to the family.
Other ways in which the costs can be met include grant assistance from organisations such as, Protestant Aid, Bertrand & Rutland Fund amongst others. A full list of sources of grants can be obtained from the school.
A discount in fees is granted to the second and subsequent child of the same family.
