Cavan Student Enterprise Awards
A clean sweep for the Royal
School - 5 awards in Total
The Royal School travelled in force to the Cavan Student
Enterprise awards in March in the Slieve Russell hotel.
We had 5 entries in the Senior Category (Wooden It,
Adstringo, Roll with us, Spin & Learn and Road safety
kit). In the Junior category they had 6 entries ; ( Wooden
Consilio, Crafty Marks, Positive Plaquing, Cakeworld,
Frame It & Charms).
After a busy morning of setting up and being
interviewed the students were entertained by
a motivational speaker before the awards were
announced. Wooden It
The Royal School once again completed a clean
sweep of awards by winning both the senior & junior
categories. In fact there were 9 out of the 11 schools
in Cavan competing and the Royal won 5 out of the
12 available awards. This includes 1st place in both
Junior & senior which qualifies these companies for the
national final in Croke Park in May.
Senior Category:
1st place: Wooden It? Cassie O›Connor, Daniel
Stratford, Barry Stratford, Kelvin McNally & Jamie
Eccleston.
This group produced quality hand crafted wooden Spin & Learn
products and had very impressive sales numbers. They
also secured the endorsement & Support of Neven
Maguire during the year.
3rd place: Spin & Learn: Laura Tilson, Sophie Reilly,
Nathan Clarke, Ana Hernandez.
This group designed and created an innovative
spinning game to aid teaching and learning in primary
education.
Junior Category:
1st Place: Frame It: Megan Griffith Keane, Millie
Kinnear, Paul Soden & Daphne Keyes.
Frame It
Produced hand crafted decorative personalised picture
frames.
3rd Place & Best Display: Wooden Consilio: Andrew
Tilson, Christopher Clarke, Obi Nzewi, Ben Leggett &
Joseph Murphy.
Designed and produced a range of unique and
innovative timber products.
After the awards were announced the winning groups
had to wait for official photographs and then enjoyed a
lovely lunch. All competitors put in a great effort, were
very well behaved and were a credit to themselves and
