The Bank of Tomorrow with Gabriel O’Neill (ICHH) & Michael Loughmann (Sleepout Cavan)

             The Bank of Tomorrow

The AIB Build a Bank Challenge has been part of the Royal School TY
programme for the past 8 years. This year 6 of us got the amazing
opportunity to take part in this competition. As always a huge number
of TY’s applied to be part of this team. Movie Day
The Student Officers from AIB interviewed the applicants and the
successful candidates were informed the following day. Our Bank
Manager, Sophie Reilly, kept us driven and together throughout the
year. Our Chief Operating Officer, Cassie O’Connor, offered leadership
and evoked efficient teamwork. Our Financial Controller, Michael James
Metcalfe, took charge of the money side of things, keeping us on top
of our game. Our Marketing Manager, Lloyd Hastings, was in charge of
all of social media accounts, his dedication resulted in the incredible
18,600 views @anniesbank has on social media. Our Public Relations
Officer, myself, Carla Van Der Laan, came up with new and innovative
ways to retain customer loyalty and get people interested in The Bank of
Tommorrow. Last but certainly not least; our Customer Services Officer,
Favour Ajogbe, dealt with any issues our customers had with their The Bank of Tomorrow at The Regional Finals in Athlone.
accounts, informed students of who and what we are, and answered any
queries students had about our bank.
We chose the name “The Bank of Tomorrow” for the sole reason that it is
effective in communicating what our bank truly believes in; building for
a brighter future. This coincided with our bank mascot “Annie” who sings
the iconic song “Tomorrow” and this helped to reinforce the bank name.

Part of the Build a Bank challenge is to raise money for a chosen charity.
We decided to address and raise awareness about the topical issue of
homelessness. This issue has a strong connection with our bank name
as people who are homeless are always looking towards a brighter
tomorrow. The three elements symbiotically tie in with one another and
       solidifies our bank’s name.
The Bank of Tomorrow on stage at The National Finals at The RDS. (2)
