ROYAL SCHOOL TRACTOR RUN
On Sunday the 15th January, we held a tractor run in the Equestrian Centre in aid of
the Friends of Cavan Oncology and the Donal Walsh foundation. The main organisers
were John Clarke, Steven Armstrong, Phillip Speares and Dylan Nugent. Adam Chan
was responsible for the design of the posters and advertising on social media.
There was a good turnout of 65 tractors. The registration began at 12.30 and we left
the centre at 2p.m sharp to start the run. The run itself lasted for approximately an
hour. After the run we held a raffle with prizes kindly donated by local businesses.
We sold raffle tickets on the day. We served refreshments after the run for all the
participants. After the raffle we thanked all who helped and who had given spot
prizes for the raffle. It was an enjoyable day and we hope to hold it again.
I would like to thank Ms. Sheridan, Ms. Brady and Mr.Corley who helped organise
the run.
In total we raised € 3,140. We donated €1,080 to the Friends of Cavan Oncology.
Frances Galligan came into the school and explained the work they do and how this
money will be put to good use.
Elma Walsh also came into the school and spoke to the fifth years about her son
Donal’s battle with cancer. We donated €1,060 to the Donal Walsh foundation.
