HiSToRy TRip To CRoke pARk GAA MUSeUM
On Tuesday the 26th of November 2013, Transition year and some of the fifth year history class
went on a trip to the GAA museum at Croke Park in Dublin. When we arrived at the museum
we went inside and were shown a short film about the history of the GAA and Croke Park.
We were then shown around Croke Park and were taken to the various locker rooms, warm
up rooms and treatment rooms. We were then taken out
through the tunnel onto the pitch. We went up to the top
stand where we had a spectacular view of the whole pitch.
After that, we were allowed to look around the museum
and play some of the simulation games upstairs. There
were various training games to practice skills, such as
jumping to save the ball, shooting etc.
We then left the museum and stopped at Blanchardstown
shopping centre where we were allowed to get something
to eat and do a small amount of shopping. It was a very
good and educational day which was enjoyed by all.
