Cross Country Cross-Country September 2011
The Royal School Cavan competed in two cross-country
races this year.
The first race was in the middle of September. This was
the Cavan Schools cross-country competition. There were
representatives from schools from all over County Cavan. It
took place in the Kilinkere football pitch. Distances ranged
from 1 kilometre for 1st years to 4 kilometres for senior
students. The course was very wet and mucky.
The second event took place at the end of September
when the Royal School Cavan competed in cross-country
competition in Dungannon for all the Royal Schools in Ulster.
There were races for 1st years, U15’s, U17’s, and seniors. The
course was approximately 2km in length and was set out
around a hockey pitch and the school grounds. Ground
conditions were soft.
Hannah McHugh (1st year) came second in her race while
Emmanuel Galligan (TY), Sarah Adesanya (5th year) and
Steven Abbot (TY) came third in their races.
Thank you to Mr Ames and Mr Plunkett for the enjoyable
days out.
