The ‘Week of Languages and Cultures’ started off with students making posters
that were full of interesting facts about other countries. The countries ranged
from Malaysia to South Africa, and from places closer to home such as England
and Germany.
The posters were then placed all over the school, so students could glimpse at
them before classes. Other posters that contained things like reasons to learn a
language, and how to say ‘hello’ in languages also covered the walls and corridors
of the school.
First years learned how to play the French game ‘Boules’, as taught by a French
man called Fred. They enjoyed it a lot.
Ms McElwaine also let us play ‘Boules’ during one of her French classes.
It was a great week and we learned a lot from it.
