The Royal School Cavan is a Christian Co-Educational Secondary Boarding School in Cavan Town. It was founded in 1611 by James 1.

At present it caters for over two hundred pupils, comprising of both day and boarding.

Present Day

The present school building, which dates back to 1819, was purpose build as a School. It has, however, been extensively renovated and modernised in recent years. The building is situated on its own grounds (20 acres) adjacent to Cavan town and has ample outdoor recreational facilities as follows:

• Full sized floodlit all-weather hockey pitch
• Grass soccer pitch
• Hard tennis/basketball court with floodlighting
