Parents' Section

The Royal School Cavan, is a happy, caring and secure environment in which each pupil endeavors to reach their full potential both socially and academically.

It is important that parents are involved in their children's education. Regular contact between parents and staff occurs by means of parent teacher meeting for all year groups, written reports and individual appointments where necessary.

In order for your child to participate fully at The Royal School Cavan, the school and your child need your support.

  • You should expect your child to participate in learning and in school activities.
  • You should develop in your child a habit of good attendance and punctuality.
  • You should provide your child with food for the day.
  • You should check and sign your child's school journal each week and provide a suitable space and time for homework to be completed.
  • You should make sure that your child has the correct uniform at all times. This includes the P.E. dress code.

The above guidelines make school a more enjoyable and full filling experience for all.

Each form has a form tutor with whom they meet each day. Pupils are encouraged to discuss any problems or difficulties they may be experiencing with their form tutor. The tutors are their to help, advise and guide the pupil in such situations.

Pupils who board at The Royal School Cavan still gain a sense of community as boarding is for the five school days, Monday to Friday with pupils' returning to their community for the weekend.
